Abstract

Spin-orbit scattering of hot-electron spins injected into a ferromagnetic thin film was investigated using a magnetic metal base transistor. The observed anisotropic transmission was described phenomenologically in terms of spin-orbit scattering parameters, and a surprisingly short scattering time was extracted.
