Abstract

In this study, an integrated system of robots that can autonomously drive on solar panels is developed. The structure and principle of the robot of a vacuum suction caterpillar structure, in which the robot can run on the inclined panel without slipping, was developed. The autonomous robot was built by integrating the developed mechanism and control system. The photo sensor and the inertial measurement unit sensor were used for autonomous driving, and the methods of preventing the deviation from the outside of the solar panel, or correcting the driving direction of the robot panel, were applied. In addition, the proposed system is intended to deal with a driving algorithm that can be easily handled by the public without a separate operation.
