Abstract

Proposing low-loss amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) for metasurfaces, this study engineers its bandgap to optimize extinction coefficients. Achieving near-zero losses, the material enhances beam-steering efficiencies at visible and near-infrared wavelengths, making it commercially viable with mature technologies, thus reducing production costs.
