Abstract

Birefringence study was carried out for the freezing mechanism of lanthanum-modified lead zirconiate titanate relaxor (PLZT) ferroelectrics. Electro-optic coefficient behavior of the freezing mechanism of PLZT relaxor ferroelectrics was also investigated. The results show that the remanent birefringence of the poled specimen disappeared around 268 K, thus indicating this to be the freezing temperature.
