Abstract
C-ITS known as the next generation intelligent traffic system is currently systematically developed not only in Korea but in other countries around the world for drivers' safety and smooth flow of traffic. The era of C-ITS is now a development from the past in which the ITS system delivered one-sided information by collecting information regarding traffic and safety but rather it uses various sensors and two way communication system among car to car and facility and car to send complex and interactive information back and forth. This system is developing to not only provide comprehensive traffic information but also send information that is right for the driver's situation. In this research, the premise was set that the C-ITS era in the near future will be able to have communication between the car and roadside facilities. With this premise, I would like to do research in the development of facilities that are grafted with the ICT technology. Among these facilities, I would like to apply network and sensor technology to the delineator that is a facility for the front view of the driver and call it the 'smart fusion delineator' and verify the development possibilities. The 'smart fusion delineator' shares information using wireless communication to share information when accidents happen in he car and delineator. This will also signalize this to send the possibility of accident to the back driver to prevent 2nd hand accidents. In this research, we will study the necessary conditions of the components of the delineator and specify their operating mode to suggest the development of a smart fusion delineator. For research methods, we will collect practical data of advanced research and apply this. For the possibility of realization and optimization of other technology, we have received the consultation from an IT specialized corporation. The results defined the smart fusion delineator as a device that is able to attach to the wireless communication module to connect with the car and warn the rear drivers of possibility of accidents through the change and flickering in color of the LED.
