Abstract

A compact six-port transceiver for time-division duplex systems is proposed. The proposed transceiver only uses a single six-port junction for the Tx and Rx mode. Also, we propose the new radio frequency (RF) and baseband interface component, which consists of switch, reflection coefficient generator, and the power detector. The prototype circuits are fabricated to validate the new transceiver with 15-Mbps quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) digital modulator and 10-Mbps QPSK demodulator at the carrier frequency of 2.4 GHz. The proposed six-port transceiver can provide a simple, low-cost, low-power, and reconfigurable RF design platform.
