Abstract

For computation of the Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) problems, the combined formulation was adopted. The Navier-Stokes equations were solved using a P2P1 Galerkin finite element formulation with (Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian) algorithm. The developed code was successfully validated for some cases: laminar flow around a freely falling cylinder, laminar channel flow divided by a thin plate, and oscillations of a vertical plate in resting fluid.
