Abstract
A road traffic noise prediction has been known as the important environmental assessment, according to the traffic volume as well as pavement surface type. In order to determine the parameters of a noise prediction model, statistical pass-by and close proximity tests are required. However, this paper provides the parameter determination procedure of noise prediction models through an adaptive algorithm, based on using the weigh-in-motion system, which obtains vehicle velocities and types, as well as the step-up of microphone, which measures the combined noises of various speeds and vehicle types. Finally, an evaluation of the traffic noise prediction model's parameters was carried out in order to check the good agreement between prediction and measurement.
