Abstract

The wireless communication system has been introduced to improve the efficiency of the operation and the maintenance for the modem railway system. As the data traffic is expected to increase to accommodate the ever increasing transportation capacity and the various types of convenience services for passengers, the data transmission technology supporting higher data rate under limited bandwidth is one of the essential requirements for the communication system design. The SDM (Spatial Division Multiplexing) is one of the promising techniques to satisfy these requirements for the railway communication system. However, this system assumes the accurate CSI (channel state information) to guarantee the required data recovery performance at the receiver. In this paper the effects of the channel mismatch on the system performances are analyzed through the computer simulations. The various combinations of detection algorithm and modulation scheme are tested under the viaduct scenario which is one of the representative railway environments.
