Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine isokinetic capability of ankle joints (involoved and uninvolved side) from 24 female collegiate students reporting chronic ankle sprains and then examine the effectiveness of the rehabilitation program by observing how the rehabilitation program affects isokinetic capability of hip and ankle joints. The results observed by using Biodex system are as follows. Chronic ankle instability and ankle abduction are functionally correlated and it is highly related to reoccurrence of ankle sprain. Also, 4 weeks of rehabilitation program on the involved ankle and the hip joint at the same side is considered very effective on female collegiate students with chronic ankle sprains rehabilitation.
