Abstract

The electro-optic (E-O) response of (001)-oriented barium strontium titanate (BST) thin films was measured on MgO(001) substrate. A high E-O coefficient of up to 1.0×10-14 m2/V2 and a large birefringence variation was obtained up to 0.09. Various (E-O) applications and the microwave applications of BST thin films were expected.
