Abstract

In this paper, we propose the encoder to code or store the healthcare signal such as an electrocardiogram. The encoder for healthcare signal has the structure based on the medical device encoding rules which is to describe or store the information for medical waveform with tags. The role and scope of the tags should be specified in order to avoid the ambiguous interpretation. To do this, the encoder with the root property is designed which is listed on the front tags. The root property is to define the functionality required at the waveform data to be corded in advance. By assigning the tags with root property, the ambiguous problem of the scope between subtags will be able to resolve. The structure and operation of the presented encoder is verified and analyzed in the results.
