Abstract

In this paper, we propose a novel approach to event-based real-time process monitoring based on historical log analysis. In the proposed methodology, Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) is applied to analyze the relations among event occurrences and visualize the relations as a concept lattice. Moreover, we devise an extended concept lattice, named State Transition Lattice (STL), for the effective and intelligent real-time process monitoring. STL diagnoses a current state and predicts next states based on observed events in process execution. The procedure of constructing STL was formulated and how to apply STL to the real-time process monitoring was described with an example scenario.
