Abstract
Flow field analysis of near-wall flow structures of a turbulent boundary layer over a riblet surface with semiclassical grooves was performed. The structures were investigated for cases of increasing and decreasing drag and flow visualization was carried out. It was found that the normalized rms velocity fluctuations and turbulent kinetic energy were small near the ribblet surface as compared with a flat surface.
