Green Management Activities of Construction Companies and Strategic Implications for Sustainable Growth

Abstract

This paper explores green management activities in the construction industry and investigates how some construction companies apply green supply chain management that are usually adopted in the manufacturing industry to their actual business fields. This paper discusses three construction companies and finds characteristics of green supply chain management in the construction sector. This paper gives some strategic implications on how construction companies adopt green SCM and align their business activities to their business purposes. Overally, construction companies are conducting green management practices in the purchasing and demolition process while they need to cooperate with suppliers to build green supply chain management.
