Image acquisition and pre-processing system for single photon counting X-Ray Imaging

Abstract

Single Photon Counting (SPC) X-ray imaging system is emerging to reduce radiation exposing and increase the image contrast In this paper, we introduce our prototype multi-energy X-ray system focusing on the image acquisition and pre-processing system for SPC X-ray imaging. The image acquisition and pre-processing system are located at the pixel sensor side and the X-ray image reconstruction is completed by using a GPGPU on a host PC. The experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of our proposal to the single photon counting X-ray system realization.
