Abstract

A series of visual assessments was conducted using four different mobile LCDs and OLEDs so that the image quality of the mobile displays was evaluated and compared based on visual perception rather than physical properties. In this study, it was confirmed that the trend of the image quality could not be simply explained by electro-optical properties. Thus an attempt to consider the image-quality attributes was made. Furthermore, it was also found that naturalness is the most major factor affecting the overall image quality among image-quality attributes such as naturalness, colorfulness, contrast, sharpness, etc.
