Abstract

Currently, it is common to produce contents for 360˚ VR service based on special shooting cameras. However, in the next-generation 360˚ VR, we consider producing content and providing services using individual videos taken from smartphones[1]. If this could be done, user accessibility and convenience to 360˚ VR services will be further increased without special devices or environmental restrictions. Therefore, in this paper, an Android-based smartphone app is designed and implemented to facilitate the production of individual videos using a smartphone, obtaining metadata necessary for post-processing the video, and uploading the acquired metadata to the server.
