Abstract
In designing wireless sensor networks, one of the main objects is to effectively utilize limited resources of sensor nodes. Due to a random distribution of cluster heads in the network, there might be situations when selected cluster heads are concentrated on a certain part that makes the nodes from other parts to get discharged sooner. Therefore, coverage problems have to be taken into consideration when organizing routing protocols. This paper examines uniform distribution of clusters by dividing the network area into proportional regions. This approach guarantees grouping cluster heads in such a way that it, in most cases, ensures their equidistance from each other. As a result, it allows to evenly allocate cluster heads within the network, significantly improves the coverage and helps to manage energy consumption efficiently.
