This research is to recognize the importance of design education and to give a guideline to organize school curriculum for future interaction design. According to the researched information, offering a new guideline for interaction design in IT environment is necessary.
For the scope of the research, the world's 75 best design schools offering interaction design programs are researched. From the researched design schools, 16 schools including 5 colleges in Korea are selected to analyze the interaction design curriculum.
The methodology of this study is looking for the current status in interaction design with the related contents, and then the several suggestions for the interaction design education are discussed based on the collected information.
The suggested sessions of interaction design are design strategies, prototyping, usability testing, and developing process.
The results of this study offer a new curriculum model of interaction design education with detailed methodology which students can follow from school projects. The sorted lists of design schools which provide interaction design programs are very useful to reorganize new curriculum with revolutional and educational purposes.
