Abstract
The development and application of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and other related technologies are advancing rapidly in conjunction with the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the ongoing advancement of science and technology. This paper proposes guidelines for the development and product design of wearable sports helmet devices using IT technology. It does so by analyzing snow sports helmets, where helmet wearing is essential, and by proposing a prototype of a smart helmet for snow sports. The latter is designed to provide information by identifying changing environmental factors and to make sports activities comfortable and enjoyable. Furthermore, it can guarantee a safe distance, automatically request emergency assistance in the event of an emergency, and facilitate communication among individuals engaged in group sports activities. It is anticipated that this helmet will be widely applicable in all sports where helmet use is mandatory, extending beyond its current use in snow sports.
