Abstract

In this paper, as an extension of device-to-device (D2D) communication in cellular network, multi-device-to-multi-device (MD2MD) communication in cellular network is proposed for efficient multimedia content distribution. The proposed MD2MD communication is based on mobile peer-to-peer (P2P) system with rarest-first algorithm. We adopt hybrid space-time block coding and spatial multiplexing (hybrid STBC-SM) as a transmission method for the proposed MD2MD communication. Performance evaluation results show that by applying the proposed scheme, receivers achieve improved bit error rate (BER) performances, compared to MD2MD communication using spatial multiplexing (SM) scheme with same data rate.
