Abstract
The capacitance of the needle-type electrode-structured capacitor recently proposed by B-K. Kim et al. [1,2] were numerically estimated and compared with the values for standard case size capacitors. If the capacitor is to have higher capacitance than a conventional multilayer ceramic capacitor, it requires at least millions of needle electrodes with diameters of less than 1 m. Regretfully such a small electrode dimension is hard to realize by mechanical drilling.
