Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the joint distribution of the aggregate interference at multiple wireless receivers. We consider a wireless system that combines the received signals from spatially distant multiple wireless receivers. In such a system, the aggregate interference at each receiver correlates with those at other receivers, making it important to study the joint distribution of the aggregate interference at multiple receivers. We first derive the multivariate cumulant of the joint distribution of the aggregate interference and investigate the correlation and skewness of the distribution. Based on the cumulant, the joint distribution is approximated by the multivariate log-normal and the shifted log-normal distributions and the Edgeworth expansion. We show that these approximations well match the distribution obtained by a Monte Carlo simulation.
