Abstract

In multipath fading channel, a system performance is affected by interference and noise. Beamforming capability is very significant in smart antenna systems. This paper surveys weight beamforming techniques such as minimum mean-square error (MMSE), maximum signal-to-interference ratio (MaxSIR) and minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR). These techniques suppress the interference significantly and increase output signal to interference-noise ratio (SINR). Multiple array processors are connected to a receiver antenna array in order to extract the desired paths separately. Signals with different'directions of arrival (DOA) are processed by a method of angle diversity receiving and temporal combining to enhance the system performance. This paper includes simulation results and performance comparison of three weight beamforming techniques for combining signals.
