Abstract

TiO2 particles were prepared with various pretreatment temperatures to find optimum electrocatalytic activity in water electrolysis. The morphology and structure of TiO2 particles were characterized by XRD, N2 physisoption and SEM analysis. The morphology of TiO2 particles was significantly affected with calcination temperature. TiO2 particles pretreated at 200 °C possessed the highest surface areas. The sample showed significant electrocatalytic activity in cyclic voltammograms. Moreover, TiO2 particles prepared using [Omim][BF4]+[Hmim][BF4] were tested with various calcination temperatures. Among the samples, TiO2 particles after calcination at 100 -C showed the highest electocatalytic performance.
