Abstract

A reconfigurable three-dimensional beam steering antenna for intelligent antenna system is presented. The proposed antenna is composed of a triangle loop antenna and two bended dipole antennas with four switches to steer the antenna beam patterns in both of the x-y and x-z planes. The operation frequency of the antenna is 2.5 GHz. The peak gain values are 1.04-2.06 dBi. The overall half-power beam width (HPBW) is about 160° in both of the x-y and x-z planes.
