Abstract

A novel reconfigurable beam-steering antenna composed of double loops is presented. The operation frequency of the antenna is 14.5GHz. The antenna using two artificial switches configures three cases (case 1, case 2, case 3), and has three maximum beam directions of Ømax=0°, θmax=0° (case 1), Ømax=230°, θmax=40° (case 2) and Ømax=130°, θmax=40° (case 3). The peak gains of the antenna are 6.5 dBi (case 1), 7.6 dBi (case 2) and 7.8 dBi (case 3). The half power beam width of each case is 95°-105°.
