Abstract

A single-arm rectangular spiral antenna, which radiates multi-beam with radio frequency-micro electro mechanical system (RF-MEMS) capacitive series switches, is monolithic fabricated on rigid substrates (glass: ετ= 7.4 and quartz: ετ= 3.8). The spiral is configured by three-arms, which can be interconnected by two RF-MEMS series switches. The proposed antenna radiates left hand circular polarization (LHCP). The gain of multi beams is between 1-3dBi for glass substrate and 3 - 5dBi for quartz substrates. Multi-beams of antennas satisfy a 3-dB axial ratio criterion at operating frequency band 11GHz for glass and 6GHz for quartz substrates.
