Abstract

Recently a few papers have presented the influences of iron loss, which neglected in the vector control of induction motor (IM) up to now. This paper investigates the effects of iron loss in the direct stator flux orientation and in the speed sensorless vector control of IM, and presents compensation method of control algorithm. In this paper, the iron loss is modeled by an equivalent iron loss resistance Ri connected parallel to the magnetizing inductance Lm and we derive a stator flux-oriented vector control scheme for the parallel model. In the simulation and experiment, the torque and speed responses are investigated and its results will show the variance before and after the compensation, and verify the validity and effects on this proposal.
