Abstract
The ferroelastic phase in hydrogen-bonded TIH 2PO 4 was investigated by means of impedance spectroscopy. The temperature-dependent dielectric susceptibility exhibited perfect agreement with that expected for strain-polarization coupling. The high-temperature dielectric susceptibility revealed the corresponding Curie-Weiss temperature to be far above the antiferroelectric phase transition temperature, indicative of a novel mixed phase between the antiferroelectric and the ferroelastic phase transitions.
