Abstract

In October 2009 ISO (International Organizations for Standardization) established a standard protocol [1] for mutual exchange between a medical device for personal health and diagnosis such as a personal hemadynamometer, a personal blood sugar device or scales and a data manager for collecting and storing personal bio-information from the devices and transmitting the information to a u-health service center in ubiquitous health care environment. The personal bio-information supplied from the uhealth device is very sensitive in relation to a personal living body in an aspect of privacy protection. On the assumption that the information is about a patient, it is more serious problem if it is revealed to a third party. However, this established standard protocol has just considered a transmission part for mutual exchange of bio-information between individuals, but has never actually considered security elements. Accordingly, this paper is to show all sorts of security threats according to the u-health environment and security requirements and to explore a health-care housing application avenue considering security.
