Abstract
Alumina based nanocomposite powder containing γ Fe-Ni alloy particles was synthesized using a solution-chemistry route from alumina, Fe(NO3)3·9H2O and Ni(NO3)2·6H2O. Microstructural observation using transmission electron microscopy revealed that γ Ni-Fe alloy particles with an average size of 20 nm were formed by an in-situ alloying process. The composite exhibited typical ferromagnetism behavior with the hysteresis, due to dispersion of Ni-Fe alloy particles.
