Abstract
The development of a university is a rather complex, interrelated system which can be analyzed by the use of computer simulation. Eight colleges are considered; Engineering, Business, Architecture and Urban Studies, Arts and Sciences, Education, Agriculture and Life Sciences, Human Resources, and Veterinary Medicine. This model consists of faculty, staff, undergraduate students, space and financial elements of each college. The model permits the evaluation of polices regarding: (1) university size; (2) the role of funded research; and (3) the effects of emphasis on graduate education versus undergraduate education.
