Abstract
A two-switch critical-conduction-mode (CRM) resonant DC-DC converter is presented in this paper. In the proposed converter, the CRM operation for Zero-Voltage-Switching (ZVS), the resonance between the leakage inductance and the resonant capacitor for Zero-Current-Switching (ZCS), two switches and two clamping diodes are utilized for achieving high efficiency and reducing voltage stress. Since ZCS of output diodes is achieved by the operation of CRM and the resonance of leakage inductance, the conduction loss can be minimized.
The two-switch configuration also recycles the energy of the transformer leakage inductance to the input allowing high efficiency. The voltage stress of both switches is reduced to the input voltage by the clamping diodes.
The presented theoretical analysis is verified by prototype of 68 kHz and 60 W converter. Also, the measured efficiency of the proposed converter has reached a value of 94.6% at the maximum output power.
