User-selectable Stereoscopic Video Streaming using Video Enhancement Information: System Design and Implementation

Abstract

With the development of the Internet and digital technology, the way of media consumption is changing from traditional broadcasting services to communication-based streaming services. Various researches have been actively conducted to reduce the traffic congestion problem in the Internet communication network and provide high-quality realistic media. In this paper, we propose a system design and implementation scheme that can improve video quality with less bandwidth by utilizing video enhancement information (VEI) technology in HTTP live streaming (HLS).
